Goals
Using only stable scale degrees, improvise melodies in the RH over a drone in the LH.
Tips
• The goal is not to play fast, but rather to play consistently and intentionally in resolving unstable stable degrees to stable scale degrees.
• Don’t stop when you make a mistake; just keep playing along with the metronome!
PLAY THIS
1. Choose any white note except B as a drone.
2. Set metronome to 80bpm.
3. Play drone in whole notes in the LH.
4. In the RH, play stable scale degrees (135) in half notes in any order, any octave.
5. Increase RH speed to quarter notes, then eighth notes.
