Do I need any prior experience to join?
ArtPlay Academy is designed for all skill levels, from complete beginner to advanced.
Our step-by-step, play-along lessons and guided challenges make it easy to start from scratch—no prior knowledge of piano or sheet music is required.
Plus every lesson includes help and bonus sections so you can tailor everything to your experience level.
You’ll learn by doing, building skills naturally through creative exploration.
Can I join if I am an intermediate or advanced pianist?
ArtPlay Academy is designed to grow with you, no matter your skill level.

Do I need a keyboard? Any other equipment?
To get the most out of ArtPlay Academy, you’ll need a keyboard. We recommend at least 49 keys (4 octaves) so you can comfortably play with both hands.
Other than that, all you need is:
A smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer with internet access
A built-in microphone (or external mic) if you want to use the lesson recorder feature

How long is the free trial?
The free trial is 2 weeks, during which you can explore the first 6 lessons of the Journey, the Piano Fundamentals course, plus all of the Library content.
After that you can become a member with the path that fits your learning style:

Besides creating my own music, will I also learn my favorite songs?
While ArtPlay Academy focuses on helping you develop creative freedom, playing songs you love is also an essential part of the learning process.
As you progress through the Journey, you’ll earn Notes (our creative currency), which you can use to unlock song tutorials and courses in the Library. Or join our FREEDOM membership to access the entire Library without needing to earn Notes.
Rather than memorizing songs by rote, our tutorials help you understand how music works—breaking down songs into their essential elements to empower you to make any song your own—giving you true creative freedom at the piano.

The Journey is self-directed, meaning you can explore lessons, challenges, and creative prompts at your own pace.
